Our Services

Our highly qualified Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers at Mid-South Maternal Fetal Medicine, P.C.   are trained at the highest concentration in both OBGYN and Fetal Echocardiogram and perform extraordinarily precise ultrasounds to help predict and diagnose any situation that might arise. Our patients benefit from early diagnosis and treatment of complex prenatal complications through routine obstetrical scanning. We use state-of-the-art 3D/4D ultrasound equipment to diagnose anomalies with the highest level of accuracy in ultrasound imaging.

MSMFM is accredited by the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine in Obstetrical Ultrasound with Adjunct Detailed Fetal Anatomic Examination and Fetal Echocardiogram.

Amniocentesis

During this procedure, amniotic fluid (the fluid surrounding and protecting your baby) is removed from the uterus for testing. This fluid contains fetal cells and other proteins that can help diagnose genetic disorders or infections.

Unmatched High-Risk Care

No matter your unique needs, our experienced team can provide you and your baby with a head start on your next chapter of life.

Genetic Counseling & Screening

Our genetic counselors provide:

  • Information about the risk of fetal abnormalities as well as further screening and testing options
  • Information about chromosomal abnormalities, birth defects or genetic conditions of concern
  • Consideration of the factors involved in decisions about carrier screening or prenatal testing
  • Coordination of genetic testing
  • Communication of results from testing performed
  • Resources and educational materials

Our genetic counselors will review your pregnancy and family histories, relevant tests performed by your obstetrician as well as describe the features of conditions for which your baby may be at an increased risk, and discuss further testing options. If any genetic testing is performed the results will be communicated to you and your referring physician.

The primary goal of genetic counseling is to provide information and support for your decisions regarding genetic testing in your pregnancy.
